ACROM Upgrades its MS Polymer Sealant Range

ACROM is upgrading several formulations in its MS Polymer sealant range. This technical update meets a dual objective: to better adapt to professional constraints (application, holding power, curing) and to reinforce the consistency of the range. The products concerned gain in volume, durability, and mechanical performance.

These adjustments follow client feedback and evolving requirements on construction sites in the sectors we serve: construction, transport, industry, and textile. Our references are being optimised to become more versatile versions. The goal is simple: to offer reliable, clear, and effective solutions, without compromising on quality or application conditions.

Quick Reminder: What is an MS Polymer?

An MS Polymer sealant is a sealing and bonding mastic based on silane-modified polymers (SMP), used to assemble or seal various materials. Its distinctive feature: it reacts with atmospheric humidity to form a flexible joint, without shrinkage or bubbling.

This type of sealant combines excellent adhesion on numerous substrates (even humid or non-porous ones) with high mechanical resistance. It is used for both bonding and sealing in construction, industry, or finishing works.

Isocyanate-free, solvent-free, and odourless, MS Polymer stands out today as a safer, more versatile alternative that is better aligned with safety and environmental requirements than traditional technologies. At ACROM, formulations are designed to meet real-world usage constraints: temperature resistance, elasticity, rapid curing, and ease of application.

ACROBOND MS AAA: The High Tack MS Polymer Combining Robustness and Economic Efficiency

This new formulation reinforces the performance of ACROBOND MS AAA, a versatile adhesive adapted for applications in construction, finishing works, and industry.

The technical evolutions bring concrete benefits to the field:

  • Increased volume: 290 ml → 310 ml, for more economic application per cartridge.
  • Increased hardness: 60 Shore A → 65 Shore A, ideal for bonds subjected to mechanical stress.
  • Improved elongation: 180% → 250%, for better movement absorption.
  • Faster skin formation time: 15 min → 10 min, useful in humid conditions or high-speed production.
  • Enhanced tack: Better initial adhesion, even without primer.
  • Extended shelf life: 12 months → 18 months, facilitating storage.

ACROBOND MS NV Transparent: Reinforced Mechanical Performance

Specially designed for discreet applications or on visible substrates, the ACROBOND MS NV Transparent sealant gains in stability and mechanical holding power.

  • Increased hardness: 35 Shore A → 45 Shore A, for firmer holding.
  • Improved tensile strength: 2.0 MPa → 2.4 MPa.
  • Extended thermal resistance: Initially -40°C to 90°C, now -40°C to 100°C, without loss of adhesion.
  • Shelf life: Increased from 12 months initially to 18 months now.

ACROBOND MS 43: A Stable and Reliable Adhesive Sealant

This universal reference, ACROBOND MS 43, retains the characteristics already known to our clients, with minimal adjustments that compromise neither its versatility nor its compliance with market standards:

  • Stable hardness: Unchanged, ensuring constant performance.
  • Tensile strength: With a modulus of 2.2 MPa, this single-component MS Polymer (1.7 to 2.8 MPa) achieves performance compliant with market standards.
  • Elongation: Adjusted to 400%, remaining efficient for flexible joints. The product's performance is aligned with market requirements.
  • Other properties: Unchanged, guaranteeing constant reliability.

ACROBOND SP 365: Replaced by ACROBOND MS AAA

In order to simplify the range while maintaining the same performance, ACROBOND SP 365 is now replaced by the MS AAA sealant. This change allows for the unification of references while improving certain key aspects:

  • Increased volume: 290 ml → 310 ml per cartridge.
  • Maintained hardness: 65 Shore A.
  • Unchanged elasticity and skin formation: Similar performance.
  • Optimised tack: For stronger immediate adhesion.
  • Extended shelf life: 12 months → 18 months.

A Refocused, Clearer, and Higher-Performance Range

The evolution of our MS Polymer range responds to a clear objective: to offer technical solutions that are more consistent, reliable, and better adapted to the needs of professionals.

ACROBOND MS AAA gains power with better elasticity, enhanced tack, and a formulation capable of covering a wide spectrum of applications. It now replaces ACROBOND SP 365, for a simplified product offering.
ACROBOND MS NV Transparent gains in resistance, both mechanical and thermal, whilst maintaining its transparency, which is sought after for exposed finishes.
ACROBOND MS 43, the quintessential versatile product, remains stable in its formulation. The slight adaptations maintain the right balance between flexibility and holding power.

Another key strength: all cartridges are moving to 310 ml, representing +6% material, without impacting handling or application habits, while also reducing waste volume for clients. Our technical team is at your disposal for any further information or specific needs.
